What are Sisterlocks?
Sisterlocks are very small, uniform locs created with a special interlocking tool and a precise grid of parts. Because each loc is so fine, Sisterlocks can be worn down, curled, pinned up or styled much like loose hair. They work on most natural hair textures and do not need waxes, gels or heavy products to hold.

Sisterlocks retie at My Natural Hair Spa
A retie (also called a retightening) moves new growth into each loc so your roots stay neat and your locs stay strong. Our Sisterlocks Retie starts at $200 and takes about 5 hours. Shampoo is included.
- We retie at the roots following your existing grid, so your pattern stays consistent.
- We look after your scalp and edges while we work, and point out any thinning or weak spots early.
- Most clients come in every 4–6 weeks. Waiting much longer makes the next retie longer and harder on your roots.
When you book, please tell us how many weeks it has been since your last retie. That helps us hold the right amount of time for you.
Starting Sisterlocks? Begin with a consultation
A new Sisterlocks installation is a long appointment and a long-term commitment, so we always start with a $30 consultation (about 30 minutes). At the consultation we:
- Look at your hair and scalp and talk about your goals.
- Decide which technique and loc size suit your hair as it is today.
- Go over the price and deposit for your install, and how long it will take.
- Explain how to care for your locs in the first months.
- Pick your install date.

How to prepare for your retie
- If you come with clean hair, wash it within 12 hours of your appointment.
- Skip heavy oils and products the day before.
- Let us know the weeks since your last retie when you book.
